Upload your Excel contacts
Preview and convert to Chatwoot CSV. Your file is processed locally in this browser. Nothing is sent automatically.
1. Choose a file
Use column headings in the first non-empty row. Maximum 10 MB and 50,000 rows. For older .xls files, save a copy as .xlsx first. Close Excel after saving the file.
2. Match your columns
Choose “Not included” for fields you do not have. Phones must include + and country code; store them as text in Excel to preserve their digits.
3. Review and download

Shows the first 20 valid contacts. Invalid rows and duplicates are excluded from the downloaded file; correct invalid rows in Excel and upload again. This helper does not check WhatsApp permissions or message-delivery eligibility.
4. Import into your portal
- Open Chatwoot → Contacts.
- Choose Import, upload the downloaded CSV, and review the field mapping.
- Finish the import and check the contact list. Importing contacts does not send messages.
